Cats are special

I really like cats. And because many others do as well, here are some of my pictures of these special little ones.

The picture of the cat sitting on the burned waste was also taken in Sunter, a part of Jakarta in the North. It seems to be in black and white but it isn't.

I took the picture of the lonely young kitten on a market in Indonesia. All marketeers were laughing about me when I had to lie on the ground to take this photograph.

Amri

I met Amri on a kind of dumpsite. It is located in Sunter, a part of Jakarta in the North. Amri is 39 years old with 3 children still going to school.

He picked for 800 Rubiah per kilogram (around 0.06 Euro) metal out of unloaded waste.

The picture is analog, shot on Fujifilm Sensia slide film.

The Trave - a pop band in Jakarta

Ryan - a friend of mine in Jakarta - is the lead singer of the still unfamous pop band "The Trave". They got a new member and were in need of group pictures. I was lucky to get the job :-)

Our first location was a junk yard. All these old cars made a great background. The second spot was Taman Mini. An amusement park which showcase Indonesias culture in all its variety: from original houses to all kind of transport means.

Most of the time, I used two white shoot-through umbrella reflectors with SB-800 flashes. Nikons Creative Lighting System (CLS) makes it so easy to trigger or adjust them cableless.

I like blogging :-)

A bit older pic but still one of my favourits.

I shot this photo in Kota, the oldest part of Jakarta in 2004. I did a practical training at this time. The children were below a motorway which explains the nice highlights in their hair.

I didn't use flash and the kids thought I had not taken the photo for real. But with flash the result was not as natural as you can see here.
